Lumen vs Path Tracer
Unreal Engine has 2 top solutions for visualization:
Lumen – Real Time Global Ilumination, reflections and more. Practical use as a videogame, instant changes and views.
Path Tracer – Full quality ilumination and reflections at cost of static image / video. Traditional Render.
Best practices
We can use both solutions in the same project, Lumen is the standar pipeline to start showing a nice result, then we can adjust the settings to deploy a baked scenario using GPU Lightmass (for mobile, VR or just to optimize the scene) or we can set the scene for the use of Path Tracer.
